Sony Ericsson keeps rolling out the phone releases this week with the announcement of the Sony Ericsson TM506. Actually this time is was the FCC announcing the new device that will be carried by GSM Cellular provider T-Mobile.
The TM506 according to the FCC will be a dual-band GSM/EDGE device featuring the 850/1900mhz frequencies, however the 1800mhz frequency may be added at another time according to official FCC documents. The device will also feature the WCDMA 1700/2100mhz frequencies for mobile data usage.
Along with 3G access the device will also feature Assisted GPS (A-GPS) and a memory stick micro expandable memory card slot. The TM506 will also more than likely be one of the first devices with the ability to access the T-Mobile 3G network thanks to the devices use of the WCDMA 1700 AWS spectrum frequency, although specifics on 3G access use by the TM506 have yet to be released.
The device will feature T-Mobile logos and will be the first Sony Ericsson phone sold exclusively through T-Mobile since the T610 was released in July 2003.
