» Nokia to cancel BlackBerry Connect from E-Series Smartphones

Nokia to cancel BlackBerry Connect from E-Series Smartphones BlackBerry Connect is a smart solution offered by RIM to all smartphone users no matter if they own a Berry or anything else. Among those, Nokia, the leader of the mobile manufacturer’s pack was also offering it to his fellow subscribers. That won’t happen anymore as Nokia has decided to cancel BlackBerry Connect. Nokia will use other e-mail solutions which are to be found in the newest E-Series smartphones.

What do you think? Will this move determine Nokia subscribers to ditch their current Nokia smartphone in favor of a new BlackBerry with BlackBerrry Connect available? Or would they rather still stick with Nokia and try their new e-mail applications?

I would definitely choose the second one. After all, every application can be replaced with something newer and you ought to know that already. But here’s what Nokia’s US managing director has to say about the BlackBerry Connect issue: “RIM is a competitor and has done a reasonable job in a space that is traditionally ours, so it’s no great surprise that we see this as an opportunity to give consumers a proper choice on what e-mail solutions they want.”

Are you a Nokia smartphone owner? What do you think about the missing BlackBerry Connect support?
