» Review: Smart Key Board Freeware For Windows Mobile Devices

Smart Key Board Blackberry has always claimed the top spot for one handed navigation and one-handed typing. However I personally find one handed typing to be quite a pain on Blackberry units due to their bulky nature. Surprisingly however I was able to find a freeware program that does in fact off easy one hand typing functions, but its not on a Blackberry, rather any Windows Mobile Pocket PC device featuring Windows Mobile 5.0, 6.0 and 6.1.

You can download Smart Key Board here.

The program installed easily with only one file to upload to my device and click on to install. Once installed the on-screen keyboard featured only 18 keys that were well laid out across my TyTN II screen.

The keypad displays with the typical letters found on a phone keypad, however they are much larger than found on the typical WM dialer.

The top row of keys was my favorite part as they allowed me to switch to SMS mode with a simple one click feature.

However I also really liked the built-in dictionary which allowed for quick T9 type functionality that actually sped up my type times.

I will admit that the screen is a little akward to use at first, but that's not a bad thing, it was just my adjustment from my tiny keypad to the new and improved model.

Overall its a great keyboard, I would explain more, but in this case its really about trying it for yourself and seeing if it fits your taste. With an easy and quick install its worth a few minutes of your time.
