» Verizon XV6900 now running on Windows 6.1

The Verizon XV6900 has finally been upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.1 and internet speeds have been bumped up as well, thanks to a quicker version of EV-DO that its users can now use.

The upgrade brings this smartphone up to par with the latest Windows Mobile smartphones in terms of operating system installed in it.

With the upgrade, users of the Verizon XV8900 will benefit from various enhancements including an improve IE mobile version and threaded SMS.

The upgrade also makes sure that the phone gets to the internet via EV-Do Rev. A.

Available for just $99.99 with a two-year contract, the XV6900 is a tablet-shape touch phone with only a few buttons. It has a unique launcher called TouchFLO which HTC designed for easier manipulation by the fingers, It is packed with Bluetooth, a 128MB RAM, a 256MB ROM, a two-megapixel camera and micro-SD slot.

Its really good that Verizon gave this EVDO Rev. A because there's no WIFI chip in it.
