We have started to see iPhone exclusivity deals end in countries like Canada and the UK. And now it looks like Orange France will also lose iPhone exclusivity. But this time is not Apple that’s looking for other carriers to ink iPhone new deals with. The French iPhone exclusivity has been broken by telecom regulators.
Those telecom regulators said that the deal was “a new rigidity factor in a sector that already suffers from lack of competition”. The decision comes after various complaints made by rival companies Bouygues Telecom and SFR. That doesn’t mean that any of them will launch the iPhone soon but the news is not good at all for Orange. The company was supposed to have a 5-year agreement with Apple but the exclusivity deal has just fallen.
If you’re reading these lines from France tell us what you think! Are you happy with your iPhone experience?
