The Motorola Droid is by far the coolest Android phone available out there, and it looks like a simple hack will let users tether the Droid. Does that sound exciting already?
USB tethering has already been available for a while on the Droid but that’s not good enough for most people. What we want is WiFi connectivity and naturally, WiFi tethering.
As always with custom hacks, you should pay attention to what you’re doing. In case you’re not comfortable with concepts like installing a new custom kernel and a custom recovery image then you should wait for Motorola or Verizon to officially support WiFi tethering.
And before you start customizing your Droid for WiFi tethering, remember to backup all your precious personal data stored on the phone in order not to lose it in case things go wrong. Should you brick your phone in the process, you can expect your carrier not to warranty which you have probably voided by installing custom software on your phone.
