It’s not the first time
we discuss the merger between two UK important carriers, T-Mobile UK and Orange UK, but this time around we can confirm that the merger will finally be able to take place. The EU Commission has cleared it and Deutsche Telekom and France Telecom can close the deal.
In fact it’s expected that the merger will take place by Spring so if you happen to be one of T-Mobile UK’s customers you’d better start getting used to the idea that you’re going to refer to Orange UK as your default carrier in the very near future.
The new joint venture will have a combined customer base of about 29.5 million which will make T-Mobile/Orange UK the number one carrier in the UK. T-Mobile UK and Orange UK will continue to coexist for at least 18 months after the transaction is finalized but they will practically represent the same company.
