Android Ice Cream Sandwich Is Here And Looking Sharp

We are significantly late to the party, but that doesn’t mean the unveiling of Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich would be overlooked. During a press conference event in Hong Kong a few days ago, Tuesday to be precise, Google officially announced the next version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich.
The unveiling of Android 4.0 came at a time when the Apple iPhone 4S is dominating the spotlight on a daily basis. Despite that, did a fair job with its announcement which left many anticipating what could very well be the best version of Android. Ice Cream Sandwich from what we understand is a blend of Honeycomb and Gingerbread. The task at hand here is to unify both the tablet and smartphone versions of the operating system, along with having a consistent user interface across devices.
When it comes to feature, Android 4.0 is not lacking. Like iOS, users can create folders just by dragging an application on top of another, something we would love to see in Windows Phone. Android’s people’s app which is similar to Windows Phone People’s Hub now brings support for Google+ and a few other social network services.
So far, Android 4.0 is looking to be the only true contender to iOS 5. As a lover of Windows Phone, I am completely jealous out of mind because Mango feels dated now. I mean, it doesn’t even have the option to sync bookmarks with IE on the desktop. Android 4.0 on the other hand, will allow users to sync bookmarks with Google Chrome, a feature that should surely make a lot of fans happy.
Google did a great job with Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich. It comes as no surprise why Android is the number one smartphone OS platform and is looking to stay that way for a long time to come.
