AT&T Launching The Acer Iconia Tab On September 18th For $300

On Monday, AT&T announced that it will offer the Acer Iconia Tab, Android Honeycomb tablet on September 18th, 2011. The device is a beauty to look at, and even though it is bigger than the iPad 2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, we doubt many consumers would be turned off by that.

WSJ Claims Apple iPad 3 Hitting Stores In Early 2012

Do you love rumors? Well gosh golly, so do we. Many were prepping the iPad 3 for a 2011 launch, but if you ask us, we would tell you how stupid that is. It makes no sense for Apple to launch two tablets in the same calendar year. Anyway, the newest rumor pegs the iPad 3 for an early 2012 launch, let us wait and see how well that plays out.

HP webOS All Came Crashing Down

And so it ends. HP webOS was one of the better mobile platforms that had the potential from day one to become more than what it was, however, it was never to be. According to HP today, the company stated that it would discontinue its task on getting webOS on devices to compete with the competition and focus on the value of the software going.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Banned In The EU: Thank Apple

Those of you in the EU who were planning on picking up one of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablets…are out of luck, I’m afraid. Yesterday, a German court made the decision to ban sales of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the European union. The reason? Apparently, its design/GUI are too similar to the iPad’s.

World’s Slimmest 8-Megapixel Camera Module Unveiled By OmniVision

Leading technology giant, OmniVision Technologies, announced on the new OV8850 CameraChip sensor which successfully marked itself as the world’s slimmest 8-megapixel camera module for mobile phones. In an internal report, the OV8850 is based on OmniVision’s 1.1 micro OmniBSI-2 pixel architecture, which allows the addition of auto focus modules which are 20% slimmer compared to other 8-megapixel module available in the market today.
