AT&T Preparing To Launch Three Windows Phone 7.5 Mango Device, Promises Update For Current Handsets

Windows Phone 7.5 Mango is not too far away if rumors are to be believed. While we await this massive update, AT&T is already gearing up to launch three Windows Phone 7.5 Mango devices from both HTC and Samsung. The big question is, where is Nokia in all this?

The three devices in question are the HTC Titan, which we spoke about a while back, the Samsung Focus S and Samsung Flash. All three handsets will be sporting Windows Phone 7.5 Mango and the much talked about front facing camera for video chatting. Since we have yet to hear anything about a version of Skype for Windows Phone, it is highly possible video calling could go through Windows Live Messenger or a totally new service which we are yet to know about.

The specifications on these devices are what truly sets them apart from previously released handsets. The HTC Titan, the more powerful of the bunch, is sporting a fucking huge 4.7 inch display, 1.5GHz processor, 8MP camera, and 512MB RAM. The Samsung Focus S stands below the Titan with a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display, 8MP camera, 1.3MP front facing camera, and 1.4GHz processor. Finally, the Samsung Flash, which is less powerful of the pack. This bad boy is all laid back with its 3.7 inch Super AMOLED display, 5MP camera, VGA front facing cam, and a 1.4GHz processor.

Are you excited yet? Well, you should be. Windows Phone 7.5 Mango on a device with 1.4 and 1.5GHz worth of CPU power could be faster than any Android handset with a full on dual core processor, and this is not some stupid exaggeration. Already, current Windows Phone handsets with their 1GHz processors can compete head to head with many dual core Android devices, so imagine what a little bump in speed is able to accomplish.

While you await AT&T to make a formal announcement, you should also know that the company plans on updating current Windows Phone 7 devices to Mango this fall, so keep a keen eye out.
