Chinese Vendors Create An Alliance To Defend Against Patent Attacks

Nokia, Microsoft, and Apple are all in for a difficult time in China. Chinese vendors who fear the ever increasing patent attacks by these companies and others, jointly formed an alliance that they hope is powerful enough to keep the big boys at bay for a little longer or indefinitely.
Among the companies named in the alliance, Coolpad, Konka, TCL, Huawei, ZTE and Lenovo are the most well known and they are out to protect themselves to the fullest. Microsoft, Nokia, and Apple are said to be targeting Chinese manufacturers due to the growing smartphone market in China, which makes the need to protect patents that much greater. It would be interesting to see how the so-called patent trolls react to this move, we can be sure that 2012 and beyond is going to be quite interesting.
