Nokia Goes Back In Time, Would Only Sport Numerical Product Models

Finnish Mobile Phone maker, Nokia, has just announced on a new (according to the company) naming convention, whereas we might tag it as an old form of naming the gadgets. If you remember, in the early days, Nokia used to launch the handsets in “numbers” only models whereas later on it added letters to it, in order to differentiate certain models. With the recent launch of Nokia 500, letters have been removed and would further remain this way for the upcoming products.
According to Nokia, the change was due to customer understanding as it wanted the customers to remember the models more conveniently as the high amount of models released by Nokia, made it pretty confusing, especially for the customers.
The manufacturer details that the new naming convention is much easier as said:
people understand the logic behind ‘the bigger the number, the more you get’ philosophy.
Customers would now need to understand the price criteria according the numbers displayed for the model. For example, the a Nokia 750 model is too expensive for them to buy, the Nokia 700 or below would be cheaper.
