Review: AppDeals For Windows Phone

This review is well overdue, I’ve promised to do it for over a week now but got hindered due to CES 2012. Anyway, let’s get down to it shall we? This application is called AppDeals, and personally. I find it to be one of the best applications for the Windows Phone platform that caters to both application developers and the end user alike.
AppDeals is pretty straight forward, it is all about finding the latest deals that are taking place with various Windows Phone applications. These deals are submitted to AppDeals by developers which are then pushed to the user via either by push notification, or email. I haven’t put the email alerts thing to the test, but I can safely say that push notifications does work as long as you have an active internet connection.
There’s a section in AppDeals called app news, this gives you exclusive news from publishers in regards to their applications. However, I didn’t find it to be of much use, but you know, it is always good to be in the know. Having said that, because of the app news section, I found a great flashlight app called Flashlight XT, it’s free and works pretty well.
One thing I had a problem with is the option to share deals with folks in your social network circle. I saw it, got excited, went to try it out and was left scratching my scalp. Only the deal at the top of the list can be shared, there is no way to pick a specific deal which is disappointing. To the AppDeal developers, this is 2012 guys, didn’t you all get the memo? Heh heh!
In my final thoughts, despite the deal sharing problem, AppDeals is a winner and things can only get better with developer support, so go give it a spin, you’ll be checking in for a long time to come.
