Windows 8 Tablets With Intel Inside To Be Expensive

If what is being reported is true, Microsoft is in for a hell of a fight this year to compete with its Windows 8 tablet offerings. We are hearing that future Windows 8 tablets with Intel inside pricing will be more expensive than the iPad and Android tablets, the pricing is expected to start from $599 to $899. This is in part due to Microsoft and Intel unwillingness to adjust cost for suppliers, this could open the door wide open for ARM to gain footing.

Video: iPhone 4S Hands On From China With Love

The Apple iPhone 4S is doing pretty well for itself, already surpassing over 1 million pre-orders. Anyway, a video of the device escaped over the great wall of China with some Benchmark goodies, and something new regarding “Siri”. The little over a minute video with no sound, shows what the A5 dual core processor is capable of, along with the GPU which is said to be 7x faster than the one found in the iPhone 4.

Microsoft Exec: Dual Core CPUs And 4G LTE In The Pipeline For Windows Phone

Splendid news for all Windows Phone users along with those on the fence. Dual core chipsets and 4G LTE is in the pipeline for the platform, but will not blend in until performance and battery life issues have been ironed out. This was confirmed by Andy Lee, Microsoft’s smartphone chief, so hopefully all this good news won’t take too long to become reality.

Apple Ditches Samsung For TSMC, Samsung Mourns $7Billion Per Year Loss

As expected, Samsung will no longer produce chips for Apple, this is likely to do with the with lawsuits both company have been throwing at each other for quite a while now. With Samsung out of the picture, Apple will soon rely on Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company for future iPhone and iPad chipsets.

Intel And Google Announced Worlds First Intel Medfield Based Android Smarthpone

After over a year of waiting, Intel has finally answered the call and announced the first smartphone based on its Medfield mobile CPU. Earlier at IDF, Andy Rubin, the man who founded Android, joined the stage with Intel’s CEO, Paul Otellini to announce something special and fantastic at the same time.

Intel Atom E Series CPU Coming To Android Gingerbread

It is largely known that Intel is struggling to keep up with the competition where handheld mobile devices are concerned. The biggest problem facing the chip company is the fact that it is unable to come up with a suitable CPU that is power efficient enough to run on smartphones without killing the battery as soon as the phone is turned on.

HTC Puccini Clears The FCC With Eyes Set On AT&T

Finally, the rumored HTC Puccini tablet with Android inside cleared the FCC today and is gearing up for an AT&T launch this year. The tablet that is said to be sporting a 1.5GHz dual core processor could also bring to the table support for AT&T’s 4G LTE, this would surely set the Puccini as one of the must have tablets this holiday season.

Samsung Galaxy S II With Tegra 2 Inside Escaped The FCC

If you weren’t noticing, the Samsung Galaxy S II is sporting Samsung’s own Exynos dual core CPU, but as we already knew before, Samsung also plans a version with NVIDIA Tegra 2. Samsung didn’t specify why they chose to release the Galaxy S II with two different CPUs, maybe the company couldn’t manufacture enough Exynos so instead chose to take this route.
