We reported earlier that Amazon was in failed talks with RIM for a takeover, but who would have guessed that Microsoft and Nokia were both playing around with the idea of a joint venture to eat up the Canadian giant. Of course, just like what RIM did with Amazon, Microsoft and Nokia’s joint venture was turned down or probably put on hold just in case licensing talks with Samsung and HTC hits the gutter.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, everything in the dark is coming into the light, Research In Motion and its BlackBerry line of devices is truly on the deathbed waiting to be gobbled up. According to Reuters, Amazon was in talks with RIM for takeover purposes but was turned down by the BlackBerry maker; we now wonder who else might have approached RIM with these dirty ideas.
To all those BlackBerry fans in UK, Research In Motion has just made available for purchase the brand new BlackBerry Bold 9900 smartphone, starting today. Spotted recently at Carphone Warehouse, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 just went on sale at Vodafone UK. The smartphone is being offered for free on selected plans, starting at £34.17.
Looks like Mobile Syrup’s anonymous tipster was right on the money. They told the Canadian tech blog that Telus would be receiving the Bold 9900 and Torch 9810 yesterday, and sure enough, the phones arrived on Telus’s network. It’s been pretty clear since we found out about RIM’s new smartphones that they’d be coming to Canada some time this month. Now, we’ve actually got an official launch date for one of them- according to a leaked report obtained by Mobile Syrup, the Blackberry Torch 9860 is slated to launch on Telus at the end of the month. That’s not even the most exciting news, though.

The mobile phone carrier released a white version of the BlackBerry Torch 9800, which suddenly caught eyes of many looking forward on buying a new handset from the bunch of the BlackBerry 7 smartphones, released.
Just a few days back, Canadian handset manufacturer, Research In Motion (RIM) released five new editions for its handset family. With the additions of BlackBerry 7 smartphones, RIM is glad to announce the availability of BlackBerry App World 3.0 Beta. Currently made available only for smartphones, RIM’s app storefront can now be downloaded from the BlackBerry Beta Zone.
In a move that brings us ever closer to what some people are referring to as “the rebirth of RIM,” we’ve seen a price list surface on Crackberry for the three new phones being added to Research in Motion’s portfolio this month.
RIM’s portfolio of new- the Bold 9900, Torch 9810 and Torch 9860- are coming to Canada. Today; Rogers, Bell, and Telus all announced that they would be carrying the smartphones- the latter even announced release dates.
Pump up for a delight. Research In Motion along with world’ most favorite social network, Facebook, has planned on releasing a newer version of the official app for BlackBerry smartphones. Facebook 2.0 will be available for download from BlackBerry App World storefront, as soon as today.
