I’m no big fan of the BlackBerry line of smartphones, heck, I’m downright not a fan in every meaning of the word, but if I could get my hands on this particular Berry, I’d be a happy camper.
We reported earlier that Amazon was in failed talks with RIM for a takeover, but who would have guessed that Microsoft and Nokia were both playing around with the idea of a joint venture to eat up the Canadian giant. According to Reuters, Amazon was in talks with RIM for takeover purposes but was turned down by the BlackBerry maker; we now wonder who else might have approached RIM with these dirty ideas.
BlackBerry fans, it seems your presious little platform is on the verge of making a comeback that could cause problems for other competing platforms. Leaked today, is the BlackBerry London smartphone; this bad boy is powered by BBX, the same OS that powers RIM’s first tablet that went on to flop. From the looks of the phone, it appears RIM is going for a full on 4.3 inch touch screen, however, we could be wrong about the size.
We haven’t heard much about RIM since the BlackBerry PlayBook went off the grid, but with this new phone, the company plans to make a return. The device is called the BlackBerry Torch 9850, and it is officially coming to Verizon on September 8th, 2011.
