Novii WAWA Wake and Watch alarm clock for Windows Mobile Review

Everyone of you for sure have used his/her Windows Mobile based device as an alarm clock, with the purpose to get awake and watch something on the TV. Till now to do that you need to make an alarm on your ppc and then take the remote control of your TV and then start it and choose the channel. But now there is a new application released by Novii, which can do these tasks automatically for you. It is called Novii WAWA Wake and Watch and below i will make a review of its functions.

WAke and WAtch! Let your handheld turn on your TV to wake you up in the morning. this is the motto of this application and as the developers say WAWA is the only alarm clock software that will wake you up by turning on your home theater system.

Novii WAke and WAtch Features:

But now lets stop with the default product description and get deep with its functions. When you start the application there is nice welcome screen with big smile creature on it (quite funny indeed :) ), from which screen you can add, edit, delete or copy your alarms. All these actions you can access by nicely styled buttons at the bottom of your screen. At the main screen you have soft keys targeted to Options (here you can see the help,) and Preferences (here you change the preferences of you incoming and outgoing infrared beams).



For creating an alarm you just need to click on Add Alarm and the alarm options windows pops-up. In this windows you enter alarm description, set the time and the days you want the alarm to be active and choose sound for your alarm. After all these the interesting part comes. WAWA has unique method for making you TV start and it is Learning Infrared Signals from you Remote Control. This learning function is one real masterpiece of mind, cause in most cases you don't need all of your remote control's functions but only few or several. To learn an action you just need to select IR from the Settings of Beam infrared signals at Reminder Actions, then point the remote control to the infrared of your handheld, click Learn on the handheld, the appropriate button on the remote, name the learned signal and all is done. Quite simple right....



You can learn as much signals as you want, for example signal for turning your TV ON, then switch to channel you want, increase the volume of the TV, etc... Then the only thing needed is to make the signal actions in appropriate order for execution and you are ready. There is a test actions button from which you can test the alarm you have made and if it is working properly just save it and the WAWA will do the rest for you.





When the alarm goes off, WAWA beams the assigned infrared signals to control you home equipment and then plays the assigned sound the specified number of times. These actions will be repeated every five minutes until you press the Dismiss button on the Reminder screen.



Novii WAWA Wake and Watch application is one really neat piece of software, which shortly said lets you have good night's sleep without need to concern will you miss your favourite TV Show, serial or the long waited music set you wanted to hear or watch. After i have used it for 2 days i can say it's very convenient to use as a conventional alarm clock or to wake up to my home theater system. Novii has made it also very intuitive, easy for set up and the compatibility with all modern Pocket PC and Windows Mobile 5.0 handhelds that have the touch screen and the infrared port makes it very applicable.
