That's right, Skype is expanding their horizon. We have been using this cool app for years for talking free of charge with friends and family. Skype have been developing more and more tools to ease itself into our communication based life and we can't say we hate it.
It's no surprise AT&T and other carriers are thinking, according to rumors, about developing a similar VoIP product to compete against Skype and offer it to their cell phone plans subscribers. In the mean time Skype beta for smart(er) phones is out and you can download it here.
What it is? It's Skype for mobile phones. All you need is your phone and Skype beta to call your friends. You won't need a WiFi spot or a PC. You will not have to change carriers or plans. You only need a smart phone to upload it to and you are ready to go. Remember it's the beta version for now so certain features might not be fully available but I'm sure we'll see a final version soon.
