May 15 GooSync in Beta Tests
Found in:software, Google,
GooSync with Google is in beta test apparently. Unfortunately it’s a closed beta so we’ll have to wait and see the results. What GooSync does is simple. It syncs your Google contacts with your phone’s contacts.
The beta will run for about a month and we’ll see what the conclusions are. GooSync was the first online service to offer synchronization for your phone with Google Calendar. This doesn’t seem that simple to achieve with Gmail too, although you’d assume Google thought of everything when they developed this simple mailing platform. Google’s Gmail has a contacts system that gathers all the information on all your contacts whether you input it manually or not.
But when it comes to exporting and importing your contacts to and from your smartphone, Google’s Gmail can be a pain, as Gmail stores all contacts of every mail you’ve ever sent or received. That’s why I am curios on how GooSync will manage all those contacts from your Gmail account(s) and how it will merge them nice and fast into your phone’s contacts without losing any item or without overwriting any item in your phone’s list. I guess answers will come out soon and you’ll be able to fully use it shortly! We'll get you updated when we learn more about the final GooSync version.
