May 16 Nimbuzz Offers VoIP for S60 Devices

Do you want to be able to talk for free with your friends from your cell phone? Nimbuzz have just launched their service. They are providing communication support through their own network or via their direct competition. They support instant messaging and voice calls with Skype, GTalk, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messanger, AIM or Jabber contacts. They also support VoIP for calls from S60 powered cell phones. This is a decent application to try out but my question to you is, doesn’t Skype already do that? I mean what does Nimbuzz have that others don’t? But Nimbuzz might be a solution for cell phone carriers which would love to see a competitor for Skype and their vast services. And I am sure Nimbuzz is going to try to be exactly that. For now they have about 500,000 users but they plan to grow to a whooping 5 million which would be indeed a bold move. They also plan to sell advertising space to third parties. You would get free service, Nimbuzz will get money and the advertiser will get their message/ads on your device while you are using Nimbuzz. Let’s see what happens in a few months from now when they’ve had a chance to grow further. In the mean time tell us what your experience with Nimbuzz is.
