Wonder What Happens to That 25Mhz Spectrum? Kevin Martin, who happens to be the chairman of the FCC announced a vote on June 12th in order to decide what will happen with those 25Mhz between 2155 and 2180MHz. Those 25MHz, called AWS III, will be probably put on sale but they will have certain conditions that will apply.

The highest bidder will have to know in advanced they will be required to offer some kind of free service (not sure what). This service should reach 50% of the population in the first four years while the reminder should be covered by time the expiration date of the spectrum expires.

June seems to be pretty busy for a summer month. We will have the Computex in Taipei, the WWDC from Apple and this 25MHz of spectrum to be discussed and that's all going to happen in less than 10 days.
