Samsung L870: Symbian and Safari?

Samsung is getting ready to release this stainless steel slide baby in Europe. That will happen in August at some point. As for the USA there’s no official date other than “later this year”.

The Samsung L870 is going to be a S60 smartphone. Among its features we noticed the 2.4 inch QVGA screen, the MP3 player and stereo Bluetooth, the FM radio and the 3 megapixel camera and all the applications you’ll be able to run on it. It will run on GSM/EDGE 900/1800/1900 MHz and HSDPA 2100 MHz in Europe and on other GSM networks around the world once it will be released. What’s intriguing enough is the Safari browser mentioned in the spec sheet. Apple and Symbian on the same phone? Was that only a typo? Will the L870 have a Webkit-based browser installed or the Safari version? No need to worry people, we’ll find that out too!
