Freeware: Crimson Tide For Pocket PC

Crimson Fields is a Pocket PC Freeware game that offers a simplistic design with fun gameplay.

Offered for Pocket PC's with WM2003, WM2003 SE or WM5 VGA in portrait mode only the program is fun, fast, and more importantly free.

Crimson Fields is a tactical war game, after playing it I would have to say its like playing Risk with moving pieces and the ability to attack or defend on will.

During game play you decide where you want to move your troops, you can send them to the frontlines, you can hold them back at your base, and you can even tap into your troop reserves if you need the extra cavalry.

I like that the whole point of the game wasn't to go on the offensive, in fact many mission objectives have you defending locations, protecting supply lines, or even raiding facilities. No matter what your doing it always has a point, for instance in one scenario you raid a technological bunker to steal the secrets it contains.

The game also has the user looking for items needed to repair damaged units, while also building new factories for furthering your supply line.

Overall the gameplay was enjoyable and while the setup is simplistic in its design and the graphics left something to be desired, I would still suggest it to anyone who is still running Windows Mobile 5.0 or lower, but Windows Mobile 6.0 users beware, I couldn't get the application to work on my HTC Touch Cruise.
