Is It Ok to Fire People Via SMS? Firing people can be an awkward process, especially for those employers that lack the proper communication abilities and etiquette touches a good leader would be expected to master. Sure you have to get rid of those people not doing a proper job but is SMS messaging the right way to do it?

And I am not talking about a regular Joe like you and me, not that it would be fair from anyone to fire us via SMS. But imagine when that happens to Patrick Poivre d'Arvor. Who is he? I don't know him either but to French people he is a star. Since 1987 he has been a news anchorman for TF1, the French TV. I'd take it not only is he popular but really loved if he managed to stay in business for 20 years.

Well apparently he was fired by SMS. I guess it can happen to anyone!. Where is this world coming too? Are we too busy to sit down for 5 minutes of regular eye to eye talk? Or is that cell phones govern our daily lives already to such an extent that we feel so natural texting to people to the point where firing a person via SMS isn't that strange anymore?

And if we are firing over SMS, shouldn't there be an application to ease our firing habits instead? I could present it right here if you come up with it. I can see the title already "You're FIRED App for Windows Mobile and Palm"
