Palm Treo 700wx gets Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional

A little rumor birdie is claiming that the Treo 700wx is getting a Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional upgrade. That’s such gesture but considering the 800w is practically around the corner why bother upgrading when you can simply switch to the new? And what about an upgrade to the latest 6.1 version?

More importantly this birdie is claiming that Verizon’s clients are apparently the ones that will get this upgrade and it doesn’t mention anything about Sprint. How are we to interpret all this? Isn’t Verzion going to offer the Treo 800 anytime soon? Isn’t Sprint going to offer the same upgrades for their Treo 700wx? This birdie delivers quite a weird rumor.

I would definitely switch to Sprint to buy the new 800w which conveniently has a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. And I’d pass my Verizon 700wx to my kids to play with it for a while.
