June 26th 2008 should be an exciting time at U.S. CDMA provider Verizon Wireless, that's the day the new LG Dare will be arriving for sale. The device which has been touted by many as a direct competitor of the iPhone, features a great design and an impressive list of features that should have buyers flocking to the device, and ultimately to Verizon Wireless service, especially thanks to the more than reasonable $200 price tag that puts the unit in line with iPhone pricing.
The LG Dare (Pictured To The Right) features a very nice 3 inch screen with 240 x 400 pixels of resolution. The screen also features "Vibe-Touch" or what is more commonly known as "tactile feedback" The unit also offers high speed data connections through the EVDO Rev A network.
Throw in a 3.2 mega pixel camera, a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack, and a MicroSDHC expandable memory card slot that can support up to 8GB and its easy to see why the device has been so hyped up.
We should also mention the full page view browsing, which uses zooming and page overview functions, its not as good as the iPhone but its definately an improvement over other Verizon Wireless cellular devices.
The unit will also have full access to the Verizon Wireless V Cast Store, and VZ Navigator which allows for GPS functionality on the unit. Viewing maps on the unit shouldn't be a problem either given that the device features a 3D graphics accelerator.
Finally the unit has an accelerometer for motion tracking, a popular feature that seems to be encompassing the newest and coolest devices on the market. The LG Dare also features many more added programs for functionality purposes so be sure to check it out.
