BlackBerry BIS 2.5 Launched on June 29th

Attention, attention all RIM lovers! The BlackBerry BIS 2.5 is going to be coming out in a few hours, on June 29th. What else would you like to be doing on a Sunday than go downloading stuff and updating your phone? Especially if we’re talking about RIM’s BlackBerry BIS!

There’s one significant downside to this BIS 2.5 release. Most of what’s inside will require the 4.5 OS for BlackBerry which will roll out any day in September. The 4.5 OS will be available with any BlackBerry that launches before September and, starting September all the following versions will upgrade OS: 8100, 8800, 8820, 8300, 8310, 8120, and the 8110.

So let’s see what’s up in this BlackBerry BIS 2.5 shall we? No point in revealing everything since you’ll have them downloaded in a couple of hours. But let’s mention the attachments part! You can save audio and video attachments now. Besides those you will have a full range of downloadable attachments: .doc, .ppt., .xls, .wpd, .txt, .html, .pdf, .zip, as long as you keep them under 3MB that is. You can push AOL email and Hotmail/MSN accounts. It seems like pushing email is really popular these days as others do it too!
