Remember that old phone that Sprint released a long time ago? You know, Samsung Instinct, that smartphone trying to win the battle with the iPhone? Well although it passed such a terrible long time since being released without any software updates for Sprint's subscribers, Sprint has finally decided to offer a Samsung Instinct a software upgrade on June 30th. I know what you are thinking; how long has this Instinct been in business already? Hasn't the Instinct been released just a little over two weeks ago? Yes it has! The Samsung Instinct is just a baby phone. Just fresh out of the box. So why do we already need a software update? Isn't enough that Sprint is really making huge efforts to subsidize it and sell it properly before the iPhone hits? Should they start upgrading software that fast, after only a couple of weeks?
I hope that everything is fine and this is not a must-have-software-download-or-your Instinct-will-crash kind of thing. We'll find out more on Monday. In the mean time here's what they say on Samsung Instinct forums: I apologize for your disappointment regarding some of the software. We will have a software upgrade available 6/30/08. You can request a software update on your phone on that date. Press the home icon and tap main. Tap settings, then tap general, scroll down and tap update software.

Yes it needs a SW FIX. I have had mine for a week now and the internet browser will not log into websites and looses information after you type it in. On 2 occasions I have tried to log into a website and the phone restarted..geez that is why I got rid of my 755p...the phone is great, the software was not ready for release...let's fix that before we take on the iPhone sprint. I love this phone, I have a home full of Samsung electronics..this product will be good if they replace the web browser, yeah the browser is that bad. I have had 5 other Sprint phones with Vision and Power Vision, this has the worst web browser of any of them. Turn by Turn GPS is perfect on a good note, very good, the on screen touch screen is a bit small though, expect quite a few typos unless you have really small fingers. The rest of the phone features are pretty amazing and work as advertized, other than the HTC Touch Diamond (maby) this is the Sprint Phone to have with the soon to come software fix, Sprint is banking on this phone to save them, they lost 1 million customers last quarter, they better hurry with the fix, I talked to Corp today, they know they have already finished the update, I don't know if you can get it at the store yet.
why would anyone complain about this. The overall result will be that the instinct will be a better web browsing phone, and it wont cost anything extra to update. How is that a bad thing in any way.

I love my phone the Samsung Instinct but they need to make it better like my online albums i can't download the pics and put them in my photos it only can be a background an make it with a 5.0 mega camera

Yes, they should release an update. There have been many issues with the phone so far. If you read some of the forums out there, you will see all the frustration. Don't get me wrong, it IS a good phone! Lets also remember the the iPhone has gone through updates 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and soon 2.0. Lets not knock a company for making a product better. Lets give them credit for providing a way to do so!
