My Circle Plans from Alltel Get More SMS/MMS Are we going to see Alltel get bought out by Verizon soon or not? I'd say that for now Alltel are doing pretty good and they hardly look like preparing for any mergers. They are upgrading their EVDO network support and they are upgrading their My Circle plans. These don't seem to be actions done by a company on the verge of being both by a rival.

Anyway in case you aren't familiar with Alltel's plans, you should learn more. Their My Circle plan is one of my favorite plans in the US. You get to choose 5, 10 or 20 numbers in the USA which you will be able to make unlimited calls to. Those numbers you choose can be selected from any other carrier so you won't have to convince your family and friends to switch to Alltel.

And now Alltel has two more SMS options for My Circle customers. If you need more messages for everyone who didn't make it into your circle Alltel already has that waiting for you. For $7.99 you will be sending 400 SMS or MMS messages to everyone outside the circle, and in case you are a heavy duty texter, there's a $12.99 plan which will let you send no less than 1000 SMS or MMS to people outside your circle. Great upgrade if you ask me!
