Freeware: Web Viewer V1.1 For Windows Mobile Pocket PC

There are a ton of mobile browsers for mobile devices these days, some offer optimized page load times, some offer zoom in / zoom out functionality, and as is the case of Web Viewer V1.1 some offer excellent tabbed browsing with additional functions built in for easing the burden of mobile browsing.

Web Viewer V1.1 is a tabbed based web browser that offers support for Windows Mobile 5.0 and Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional for Pocket PC devices.

After easily installing the browser I found the interface in many ways to be familiar to my desktop based browser, for instance the application offered back and forward icons, a refresh option and a stop option.

Where the browser differed from some mobile web browsers was its use of tabbed surfing, in this sense I was able to have 3 or 4 pages opened at one time and keep track off all the pages in use.

The application also remembered the web page URL's I typed in and it loaded surprisingly fast. I was also able to open links in new tabs, and even duplicate tabs at surprisingly fast speeds, this browser has definitely been upgraded for optimized page load times.

Finally, if you're a web developer you will specifically find the ability to load page source in an external window, definitely a plus if you're helping a client on the road, or need to quickly duplicate source code from your mobile device.

I will admit some of the shortcut keys are hard to discover, but once you do its easy sailing from there, some tips are given at the link I provided in the intro to this article, check out the user comments and the developer website in order to grasp a better understanding of the programs rich capabilities.
