Nokia Haptikos Touchscreen technology Its no secret that Nokia has been hard at work on a touch screen with haptic feedback that can operate on a Symbian S60 type interface and that will be available on Nokia Smartphones, but even with that cat out of the bag I wanted to take a moment and tell everyone about some newly released details regarding the Nokia Haptikos Touch screen technology as it has been dubbed by Nokia.

First, the Haptikos system offers actual touch feedback by placing what they call "Little Protuberances" underneath the screen. Essentially its a bunch of little nubs that give the user the feel of pushing a button on the screen. Nokia hooked the technology up to a Nokia 770 internet tablet to show off the technology and the reaction from users has been very positive.

If a full qwerty keyboard is placed on the screen the new technology with its responsive feedback could mean easier to use on screen keyboards, possibly even reaching the point where you can tell what your pushing without even looking at the screen.

The picture in this article is a released rendering from the Patent pending technology being utilized with Haptikos technology.
