SK Telecom has just sold their part in Helio and became more interested in a possible partnership with Sprint Nextel. The CNBC reports that they are in talks with Sprint to buy them out while the Wall Street Journal reports that the two carriers, both running CDMA networks are discussing a partnership to develop cell phones and services.

SK Telecom had a $5 million investment offer to Sprint last fall but they were rejected. Apparently Sprint's board isn't that thrilled about an SK Telecom take over. If that finally happens, the American public is likely to gain from it. Good Korean phones will become more available in the USA through Sprint Nextel.
