Live Mesh Going Beta? The HTC Touch Diamond has generated a ton of interest. Partly because the device features TouchFlo 3D technology and a cool new design, and also because the device was mysteriously missing the 850mhz GSM frequency, instead relying on the tri-band GSM networks such as T-Mobile, but thanks to a new recently released hack that has all changed.

According to XDA Developers a new hack is now available that "unlocks" the 850mhz frequency. As you may or may not know, the circuit board used for the tri-band frequencies supports the 850mhz frequency, but had not been made available to the public.

Thankfully some programmers looking for a challenged recently hacked the circuitry via a software upgrade, thus allowing AT&T users to enjoy the units full capabilities.

While the upgrade allows for network access on 850mhz towers it does not give access to 3G networks. Either way its a great upgrade that extends the reach of the unit just as Sprint and other carriers announced their U.S. CDMA version of the devices.
