Remote Tracker While Windows Mobile allows you to wipe your information remotely when your device is lost, sometimes you just want to get even with the thief, perhaps even find your lost or stolen unit. Luckily, RemoteTracker can be used effectively for that purpose. Keep on reading to learn how this freeware application works.

First I need to mention that your device must have a built in GPS offering in order to track the unit.

The program works by capturing GPS coordinates, OS Contacts and by capturing newly listed owner information and sending it to the real owners backup number SMS program, thus creating a spyware type of application on your own device.

I found the application to be easy on the install. I particularly liked that the application will continue to track if the Sim card in the unit is changed. It works simply enough, I removed my Sim card and put in my fiance's card, the phone then sent an SMS message to my backup device number listed in the program, thus I could continue to track the device via the new users use patterns, while also receiving the phone number of the newly installed Sim card.

For the final test I tried a hard reset on the device, and here is where the best part of the application exists, because of a registry edit the hard reset did not delete the application, meaning tracking is almost impossible to remove without having a larger understand of how to work with cell phone registry files.

Overall a very neat program that offers easy setup and gives control to users who refuse to let go of their lost or stolen devices.
