BlackBerry Bold Launched in Chile In an amazing turn of events, the Chilean carrier Movistar became the first carrier to launch the BlackBerry Bold both in Chile and worldwide. It wasn't Canada, although Rogers seemed to be the first carrier to get the Bold. It wasn't the USA or Germany, not even Australia but Chile. That's weird to say the least.

And Movistar knows it's going to be the first one to sell the Bold and that's how they advertise it: "Primeros En El Mundo" which means "First in the World". The first price in the world is 299,990 Chilean pesos for a two year agreement. That's rather expensive. It's $588 converted in US Dollars, or twice as much as the 16GB iPhone 3G.

I'd like to see how many Chileans opt in for the Bold and while we're at it, I'd like to see the Bold officially launched already. The Thunder is coming fast!
