GPS Today Freeware GPSToday V0.9.9.1 is a great little application for your Windows Mobile 5.0 and 6.0 Professional Pocket PC based units. The program is easy to install and offers location based tracking via your units GPS connection via a home screen display option. Not only can you find your location, you can also receive Geo-Targeted information via the home screen.

I had no problems installing GPSToday on my HTC Tytn with Windows Mobile 6.0. The program not only let me know where I was with constantly updating information when I was on the move, it also showed me so geo targeted information, such as the weather for the city I was in which changed when I went out of town last weekend.

I also liked that the Geo info can be used for tagging purposes, by selection this option I was able to create a log file to show my location based information, its not the most advanced type of this feature i've seen, but for a freeware program I thought it was suitable for personal tracking rather than fleet information upkeep.

I also appreciated the ability to Geo-Tag photos using the application. The Geo Tag not only provided location based information but also applied a time stamp to the pictures.

The program can also act as a standard GPS unit with nice mapping software. Using the GPSToday application you can find your location from points of interest and areas you've visited.

Using your fingers also isn't necessary, because as the developer mentions you can simply "Single tap to create a new contact with your current location as the address, or save the current location as an existing contact's address. Imagine not having to type the full street address on the PPC keyboard!"

Finally the program offers tap protection meaning you won't set it off in your pocket by accident when trying to use the program.

Overall I really enjoyed the GPSToday application and I Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a simply GPS solution.
