I tend to run several programs at a time on my Pocket PC, in fact sometimes my device becomes so bogged down with all of my running programs that finding them as the system creeps along at a snails pace can be quite difficult and sometimes simply annoying.

Luckily changing between applications has just become easier thanks to 3D Alt Tab a Windows Mobile freeware broad that uses a very cool 3D cube view to change between running applications, much like Windows Vista allows users to switch with cool effects directly on the users desktop view.

3D Alt Tab operates on QVGA and VGA Windows Mobile 5.0 and Windows Mobile 6.0 Pocket PC's with touchscreen capabilities. The program installs with a few simple clicks, and thankfully uses very little system resources.

First I have to say that the program transitions very easily by using the type of view displayed in the picture on this page. What I liked about the application however is that I had some control over the transitions. I could for instance change the speed as which they rotated, and in which direction they moved.

But what I really enjoyed is that I was able to assign one of my softkeys as the main rotating button, this means if you need to change between programs quickly your other applications are a simple button click away, its almost like a secondard Windows Start Key that only displays current applications.

Overall its a simple program and with the ability to support different display types the program definitely earns points for compatibility. If you tend to use alot of applications at once and you tend to switch often between those applications I would definitely give 3D Alt Tab a go of it.
