Aug 31 Freeware: Slide Helper v1.06 For Symbian Devices
Found in:Freeware, Symbian,
I've always been a big fan of applications that allow users to tailor their actions towards their own needs and wants. In the case of Nokia I have reviewed several Slider based applications that take advantage of Symbian based slider designed phones. And I must admit not many have satisfied my needs as much as Slide Helper V1.06
Slide Helper is available for use on my favorite Symbian S60 3rd edition
phones the Nokia N95 and N95 8GB devices. I personally installed the freeware application on my N95 8GB and found the install to go smoothly with only a quick download and a few clicks.
Once installed I really liked the freeware programs options which were easily accessible from a single home screen program option.
Via those options I was able to choose whether I wanted the device to lock when I closed the slider, or unlock when I opened it. I was also able to choose whether I wanted the screen lights on my Nokia N95 8GB to go off when I closed the slider, a great option for conserving battery life.
I could also decide to leave the device locked when the slider opened, or to not lock when it closed, giving me more options if I needed to secure my device, or have quicker access by leaving it unlocked.
Overall its a great application that uses very little system resources, and offers a quick installation and an intuitive home screen menu that leaves all options available in a single space.

Yep, I have been using this since v1.02. In that version the option to keep the keypad unlocked when the slide was opened didn't work, it seems to have been fixed in v1.06. A brilliant free little application - top marks.
