The unit ships with a DVD that contains detailed maps of the entire U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. Called MapSource City Select North America, this comprehensive database incorporates about six million points of interest, including the locations of hotels, restaurants, gas stations, and ATMs. Even better, you can customize your maps with your own points of interest.

"Tired of getting lost? Garmin wants to help you with its super-portable automotive global-positioning system (GPS), the StreetPilot i3. At $400, the navigational aid is less expensive than the company's own GPSMAP-276C or competing products such as the Cobra NavOne 3000. Measuring 3.0 x 2.7 x 2.1 inches and weighing 5.3 ounces, the StreetPilot i3 has a scroll button of click-to-enter functions that makes it a snap to navigate. For example, highlight "where to" on the main menu, press the scroll wheel to select it, and then press whatever subcategory applies. After selecting a destination, simply click "start navigating" and the map of the route, the driving directions, and the estimated time of arrival are all displayed on the unit's color screen, either by way of a conventional bird's-eye overhead projection or through a more hip-looking 3D perspective. Looking at the display is not strictly necessary to get to where you're going because the device can also be voice-prompted to deliver audible, turn-by-turn directions over the unit's built-in speaker.
The StreetPilot i3 sports a 1.7 x 1.3-inch color display that is bright enough to read under many lighting conditions. The package integrates a GPS Latest News about global positioning system patch antenna, USB Latest News about USB port, and a 128-MB micro-SD card. Moreover, the unit ships with a DVD that contains detailed maps of the entire U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. "
