Symbian Foundation Gets More Members As we all already know, Symbian is a company held 100% by Nokia. We are also aware of the Symbian Foundation, a daring project which will certainly improve the OS in the, dare I say, near future.

And it appears that the Symbian Foundation is constantly growing. Symbian has just announced that no less than 10 more companies have mentioned their support for the planned foundation. These companies are the well known Opera Software, TapRoot Systems, UIQ Technology, Sharp and KTF but others like Acrodea, Brycen, HI Corporation and Ixonos.

Acrodea is a Japanese manufacturer of middleware for mobile devices. Brycen is a Japanese software company which knows a lot about database software. HI Corporation is a Japanese company which does middleware for embedded devices. Ixonos is a Finish company which worked with various smartphone manufacturers on the software development and project management side. KTF is from Korea and they make all sorts of wireless communications devices. Opera Software is the company behind the popular Opera browser. We all know Sharp, a company which produces, among other things Symbian devices for the Japanese market. TapRoot Systems has worked on Symbian before, particularly on its WiFi. UIQ is the last and it's responsible for the UIQ interface in Sony Ericsson and Motorola Symbian phones.

What more do you need? We have companies offering the support to the Symbian Foundation. We're waiting for results now!
