LoCo Geo-Tagging and other Geo-based locations have become popular as of late. Sites such as Twitter and Facebook use the abilities of GPS information to allow friends to stay in touch and always know where their contacts are when they want to find them. Now there's a freeware application that also offers a website for worldwide tracking of friends. The site is called LoCo and it offers its own website platform for tracking.

LoCo is compatible with Windows Mobile 5.0, 6.0 and 6.1 and installs with an easy one file upload. Once installed users simply choose to log their GPS to their online nickname and their device with built-in GPS sends the information directly to their http://loco.4ppc.de/ account.

Users can then find their friends by typing their nickname into the websites search function.

I really liked the websites simple functionality and the fact that its not cluttered with ads, what I didn't like is that its not in English so i'm not really sure what the messages say near the search box.

Overall its a simplistic program that works as described. I think of it as a Twitter for Geo-Locations rather than "What I'm Doing" messages. Overall its worth a try with friends and allows for worldwide tracking for anyone to whom you give your nickname to.
