Review: Stopwatch For Windows Mobile Pocket PC Devices

During my morning jogging I usually take down my 1 mile run times to track my improvement, sometimes I've noticed that my times have actually slowed down, mostly because I don't always pace myself, that's why I was more than happy to discover Stopwatch a freeware application that literally allows me to track each point of my run so I can tell if i'm out pacing myself, and I'm sure you can find many other areas to use the stopwatch with.

I used the Stopwatch Freeware application on my Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional inspired HTC Touch Diamond however the application will work on any Windows Mobile 6.0 and 6.1 application. The program is also optimized to work on both QVGA and VGA screens.

The program installed easily on my Touch Diamond, however I did notice that it was using quite a bit of my systems resources.

I was easily able to hit start at each time I wanted a new area to open up for tracking purposes, and I liked the simply save data information option at the bottom of the screen, it was easily accessible and stored in a simple XML file.

From a programming point of view the XML file could be a great way to parse information to a website if you wanted your visitors to be able to compare their best times among each other and create some friendly competition.

Overall a great little stopwatch, however the system resources still place this cleanly designed program behind the competition.
