The Symbian Foundation Has an Executive Directorship: Lee Williams News about the Symbian Foundation keeps coming in. I can't wait to see what the future Symbian OS will look like. In the mean time I can report on current Symbian applications and on the development of the Symbian Foundation.

As we've seen yesterday, the Foundation has about 50 members. It all started from 10 and I think we're going to have even more. Today we've heard that Lee Williams, who happens to be the head of S60 inside Nokia will become the Executive Director of the Symbian Foundation. He knows what he's doing and he can certainly manage such a position. The announcement was made by the initial board of the Foundation. All of that happened at the Symbian Smartphone Show we've told you about yesterday.

Lee Williams said:

I feel honored to have been invited to serve in this role. This is a great opportunity to directly help deliver on the promise of the foundation, working with the stakeholders and prospective members who are so committed to make this initiative a success. To me, there can be no more exciting role in the mobile software world than to lead the Symbian Foundation.

Good luck to Lee Williams, and to the Foundation. We're waiting to see you working at full, and legal I might add, capacity!
