Windows Mobile 6.5 to Arrive before Windows Mobile 7.0

While we have some time to kill until Windows Mobile 7.0, we might end up playing with Windows Mobile 6.5 handsets. That’s right, that’s not a typo. Windows Mobile 6.5 might be exactly the intermediary OS between current 6.1 and the future 7.0

Don’t ask me what happened with the versions between 6.1 and 6.5 but the CEO of Motorola happened to mention a Windows Mobile 6.5 while talking about Motorola’s financial situation. Here’s what Sanjay Jha said: "Windows Mobile 6 has not delivered the experience that I think Apple has been able to deliver, but as you look at the plan that Windows Mobile 7 and even 6.5, I think there are significant new added features which will help the platform."

So are we going to see a Windows Mobile 6.5 Motorola handset sometime next year?
