Needing a T-mobile G1 but you refuse to brave it out on the T-Mobile network? Well then this is definitely for you. While it's cool that the first Android phone can be unlocked to be used on any network, it does have a huge disadvantage, for now atleast.

T-MobileG1.com are the first to offer unlocking services for the Google Android T-Mobile G1 device that recently launched amongst much fanfare and disappointment with the hardware side of things mostly. Unlocking your G1 to use it on other mobile networks will set you back $29 for the unlock code, not bad.

Android Unlocked

Unfortunately though, unlocking the G1 will render it useless where 3G is concerned and that may not change anytime soon until "Android releases a new firmware", says a member of the T-MobileG1 team in an email.

If not having 3G is of no concern to you then by all means head over to T-MobileG1 for your unlocking code, come back and tell us how it went!
