Canalys reports that during Q3 of 2008 Windows Mobile smartphones came only in 4th position. First position is still being held by Nokia, and its Symbian smartphones will keep that position for quite a while. Next came in Apple's iPhone and RIM's BlackBerries. And only after the top 3 we find Microsoft powered smartphones.
With Android coming in strong this quarter we might just see a different report early next year. And besides the G1, more Android phones are going to follow! With that in mind, I can't help but think about Windows Mobile 7 handsets. Microsoft should be pulling in some double shifts to make sure they will gain a better hold on the smartphone market share.
