Nov 08 Google To Patch T-Mobile G1 Jailbreaking Problem
Published by Vamien in:Android, Google, Smartphone, Jailbreak, Unlock,
Just recently the XDA Developers figured out how to Jailbreak the T-mobile G1 which the geeks gobble up like hot bread pasted in butter, but just days after Google is clamping down on the fun.
The XDA Developers are having a field day with the G1 but it will be cut rather short in a 3-4 day time frame when another update/patch will be released by Goolge for Android to plug that pesty Jailbreak hole. The problem is in the RC29 update that should have been on every handset, apparently some people are still stranded with RC19. Whatever the case regarding that, the RC30 update will sort out the Jailbreak problem and so begins another cat and mouse game.
So it's safely to say that Google Android devices will meet the same fate as the iPhone when it comes Jailbreaking and that doesn't bode too well for Google at this point. You may ask the question since Android is Open Source then why do people with plenty of time on their hands go out of their way to have this done, well Android is Open Source but not only for the end user so Carriers can still shut out non approved sim cards. Jailbreaking your G1 makes it possible for you to use whatever sim you prefer and be able to load applications on an SD card.

Personally I really do not see the need for going through all this problem when you can easily get the G1 unlocked for a small price minus installing applications on the SD card. If you refuse to pay then by all means go ahead or wait for a pawnage type application that will do the job as easy as Jailbreaking an iPhone.
