The T-Mobile G1 has reached the Philippines, albeit informally, and two tech bloggers have shared their initial views to Filipinos.

The world's first Google Android-powered smartphone, the G1 has gotten mixed reviews in this market shared happily by Nokia, iPhone and smartphone brands powered by Windows Mobile and Palm.

One of the reviews said: "the G1 is a software masterpiece, as it is the only device that truly matches the iPhone’s usability without compromising it’s own set of neat features. I honestly can’t wait to see how Android develops in the next few months."

Another review, which has better photos, said that: "I keep getting the feeling that the HTC G1 tries too hard to be like the iPhone. It even has its own equivalent of the Apple iTunes/App Store called the Android Apps store. There are over 200 free applications available for download and they don’t have as many restrictions to application approvals, which is good news for developers who want a bit more freedom. The problem there is that the App Store might end up being saturated with useless apps."

Both reviews gave the G1 low marks in terms of design and pricing.
