Analysts are going rampant throughout the Interweb with speculations and advices after Yahoo CEO and co-founder Jerry Yang gave up his position probably in hopes for Microsoft to make U-turn and buy Yahoo.

Yahoo shares rose by 8% after the shocking decision by Jerry Yang to step down and Microsoft shot it back down by refusing yet again to buy the once oh so powerful Yahoo which is far less in value compared to a few months ago when Microsoft was compelled that buying Yahoo will help them significantly bring the Internet search battle to rival search king-pin Google.

Now Analysts are scampering about the place saying Nokia will or should by Yahoo, analysts Tony Crisps had this to say, "The mobile handset giant is intent on becoming a major web player in its own right and Ovi (the umbrella for its web applications and services), as we see it today, is only the start. There's a clear imperative coming from Espoo for Nokia to become part of the fabric of the Internet and not just to build on the foundations laid by others."

I firmly stand behind his view, if Nokia really needs to grow on the Internet then having it's own resources will likely work wonders for them if implemented correctly. Yes they will go head to head with Google but seeing as Google has stepped into the mobile arena in more ways than one with their mobile OS Android this head to head battle is inevitable. Mobile advertising and search will overthrow that of the desktop and I believe Nokia would want to get a piece of that pie without being held to search deal with Google or Microsoft.

Only time will tell if Nokia is interested, probably they are quite comfortable where they stand and do not wish to branch out too big, who knows?
