Palm Inc. has pronounced the Treo 680, successor to the Treo 650, as an EOL (end of line) product.

Citing the latest issue of the Palm Channelsource newsletter, Palm Infocenter reports that Palm Inc. included the Treo 680 in a list of accessories also included as EOL.

Treo 680 runs on GSM networks. It has a 320 x 320 pixel screen, with support for 65,000 colors, with SD/MMC card expandability. It is available in graphite, crimson, arctic, and copper colors.

Treo 680 is powered by the competent but aging Garnet OS. Palm loyalists have long waited for the next-generation Palm OS but the company has repeatedly delayed the release of new operating system.

Palm Infocenter said that the other EOL products are: Palm Care for Handhelds, Palm Vehicle Power Adapter for Treo 800w,Palm GPS Navigator Car Kit for Treo 680 and Treo 700p, Palm GPS Navigator featuring Garmin, Sudoku Deluxe CD, Advanced Brain Trainer, and the 1GB/2GB/4GB MicroSD expansion cards with SD adaptors.
